Clarkson Primary School strives to provide a safe and supportive academic environment where students can meet their full potential.
Students have the opportunity to attend PEAC, extension instrumental programs, and have a close working relationship with the intake High School to provide extension and specialist programs and streamlined transition from Primary to High School.
Our administration team also coordinate an extension withdrawal program to accommodate excelling students in areas identified by NAPLAN data. Our school in recent years has shown progress beyond that of like schools within the state.
Whole student well-being has a direct response on academic achievement. We have a strong focus on student wellness and early intervention. We have an onsite Pre-Kindergarten program to provide families with support and students with access to a program developed specifically by a qualified teacher to develop early Literacy and Numeracy skills. We also run an Aboriginal Play group to support our Aboriginal students' academic development in a culturally appropriate way.
We have specialist services available on site and through collaboration with relevant support services to accommodate early interventions via an on site School Psychologist, Speech Therapy and other services via the local Child/ Parent Centre and a School Chaplain service.
Our teachers strive to differentiate the curriculum, address student need as well as recognise and nurture student strengths to achieve academic excellence across all disciplines.
